Public art, theater, music and cultural life in Buena Park, covered by student and community journalists.
Full stories or short excerpts?
Feeds carry the whole story by default. To get teasers that link back to the story page instead, add ?content=excerpt to any feed URL — for example /the-park/sections/local/rss.xml?content=excerpt. Use ?content=full to force full text.
Accepted options. content, mode and excerpt all work and mean the same thing. Excerpt values: excerpt, excerpts, summary, short, teaser, 1, true, yes. Full values: full, fulltext, full-text, content, 0, false, no. Anything else is ignored.
What changes. In excerpt mode RSS omits content:encoded, Atom sends a plain-text content, and JSON Feed omits content_html. Titles, links, images, authors, categories, dates and item IDs/GUIDs are identical in both modes, so switching never duplicates items already in your reader.
Site default. When no option is on the URL, feeds follow the newsroom’s “Send excerpts instead of full stories in The Park feeds” setting; with that setting off, feeds send full content. A query option always wins over the site default.
