**BUENA PARK, Calif. — June 2026** — Hundreds of eager visitors gathered at Buena Park Downtown Mall today as **Domo Cafe** celebrated the grand opening of its first location in the United States, marking a significant milestone for the internationally recognized brand and further strengthening Buena Park’s reputation as a destination for unique cultural experiences.

Long before the ribbon was cut, excitement had already filled the plaza. Guests lined up around the shopping center to be among the first to experience the highly anticipated cafe, inspired by the beloved Japanese character Domo. The grand opening ceremony was hosted by the **North Orange County Chamber of Commerce** and brought together community leaders, elected officials, business owners, and fans from throughout Southern California.

The celebration featured remarks from **Domo brand representative Tanaka**, as well as cafe owners **Izzy Aala and Amy Aala**, whose vision helped bring the iconic brand’s first U.S. cafe experience to Buena Park.

Representatives from the offices of **Senator Tom Umberg** and **Senator Tony Strickland** joined **Buena Park Vice Mayor Lamiya Hoque**, **Councilmember Carlos Franco**, and **Councilmember Joyce Ahn** in commemorating the occasion during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

For Buena Park City Councilmember Carlos Franco, the opening reflected the city’s growing role as a destination where culture, entrepreneurship, and community intersect.

North Orange County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador **Johny Hong** praised the turnout and the enthusiasm surrounding the launch.

Among the most dedicated attendees was **Raul Ramirez**, who arrived at **4:30 a.m. the day before the grand opening** to secure his place in line.

_“I’ve been following the announcements for months and couldn’t believe the first Domo Cafe in America was opening right here in Buena Park,”_ Ramirez said. _“It was tiring and worth every hour of waiting. The energy, the chanting, the people, and seeing something this unique come to our city made it an unforgettable experience.”_
